On September 15, staff from State Grid Xuchang Power Supply Company operated drones to conduct a detailed inspection of key parts such as cable heads, bow-shaped wires, and wire drop points of important lines within their jurisdiction. Meanwhile, they completed infrared temperature measurement to promptly identify potential hazards, making every effort to safeguard the safe and stable operation of the power grid and ensure the public’s worry-free electricity consumption.

Recently, Changge City has been hit by continuous heavy rainfall, leading to a significant increase in air humidity, which poses a severe challenge to the guarantee of power supply. In the face of such severe weather, the power supply company quickly activated the emergency response, made scientific arrangements, and took multiple measures to fully ensure the safe operation of the power grid and reliable electricity supply for residents. The company organized operation and maintenance personnel to carry out special inspections and infrared temperature measurement on substations, important power transmission and distribution lines, and distribution transformer areas within the jurisdiction. It focused on checking power facilities in low-lying and flood-prone areas, and promptly detected and addressed hazards such as loose tower foundations, insulator pollution flashovers, and tree obstacles. Special inspections for anti-leakage and moisture-proof were conducted on key equipment including ring main units, box-type substations, and cable ducts to ensure the equipment operates in a healthy state. In advance, the company replenished flood control materials such as sandbags, waterproof baffles, and water pumps, and organized 15 emergency repair teams to be on standby 24 hours a day, ensuring that personnel, vehicles, and materials are “fully in place”. At the same time, it strengthened coordination with meteorological and water conservancy departments, closely monitored changes in rainfall and water conditions, continuously assessed power grid risks, and optimized and adjusted the power grid operation mode to ensure a strong main grid structure.

In addition, the company actively sent safety electricity usage reminders to important users and community residents through platforms such as grid groups and WeChat official accounts. The 24-hour customer service hotline and grid phones remained unobstructed, enabling timely response and handling of customer requests to ensure efficient resolution of users’ electricity-related issues. State Grid Xuchang Power Supply Company has taken proactive actions and made advance precautions, effectively reducing the potential impact of subsequent rainfall on the power grid. Currently, the company has stockpiled sufficient emergency materials and repair resources, and 15 repair teams are on standby 24 hours a day, ready to respond to various sudden power failures at any time.
