State Grid Shangqiu Power Supply Company: Steady Flood Prevention Efforts to Fortify Grid Safety
On August 14, personnel from State Grid Shangqiu Power Supply Company were deployed to inspect flood and moisture prevention conditions of electrical equipment at the distribution room of Ningling County’s Biguiyuan Community, the ring main unit (RMU) on Changjiang Road, and cable trenches. Flood control supplies were also reviewed and inventoried to ensure the safe and reliable operation of power grid facilities.

In recent periods, to enhance the power grid’s capacity to withstand sudden natural disasters such as thunderstorms, gales, and floods, the company has actively refined its flood prevention emergency plans, adopting a dual strategy of prevention and control while precisely implementing all flood prevention measures. In line with requirements for flood control and power supply guarantee, the company has focused on improving emergency plans from three key aspects: preventive measures, early warning responses, and emergency support, ensuring prompt response and rapid power restoration in the event of outages at critical substations or lines. Personnel from operations, maintenance, marketing, and other departments have been organized in a scientific and rational manner to conduct comprehensive special patrols of substations, lines, and equipment. Weak links in grid facilities have been analyzed in depth, with special attention paid to substations, transformers, distribution rooms, and RMUs located in low-lying areas or near rivers and water bodies—ensuring full coverage without gaps. For defects and hazards identified during patrols, a safety hazard archive has been established, with rectification measures, timelines, and responsible persons promptly assigned to achieve closed-loop management, thereby maximizing the safety of substations and transmission lines.

Moving forward, State Grid Shangqiu Power Supply Company will continue flood prevention patrols, strengthen communication with meteorological authorities to promptly grasp weather changes and grid operation status, and ensure preparedness of personnel, vehicles, materials, and other resources for emergency repairs. It will spare no effort to safeguard grid safety and unwaveringly fortify the flood prevention safety barrier.(By Liu Xuewei)
