State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company Consolidates the Foundation of Power Grid Disaster Resistance and Mitigation in the "Hometown of Flowers and Trees"

June is the Safety Production Month. On June 19, State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company, together with Changzhou Development and Reform Commission, Changzhou Public Security Bureau, and Jiaze Town People’s Government, jointly held a safety production theme activity of “Safe Electricity, Safety to Jiaze” in Jiaze Town, Wujin District.

The activity focused on mobilizing and deploying detailed work for power facility disaster resistance and supply guarantee. It carried out publicity and education on power facility protection for key groups such as village heads, tree planters, and crane drivers. Through various forms including leaflet distribution, special lectures, and prize-winning quizzes, it systematically enhanced the awareness of power facility protection and safety literacy among the public, promoted the effective implementation of special actions for disaster resistance and supply guarantee, and built a safety barrier for Changzhou’s power disaster prevention and mitigation work.

Jiaze Town has more than 400 flower and seedling enterprises, with a planting area of over 80,000 mu for flowers and trees. More than 95% of farmers are engaged in the flower and tree industry, making it a well-known “Hometown of Flowers and Trees” nationwide. The densely distributed tall trees and power lines “coexist adjacent to each other,” becoming a “critical concern” for the power grid under extreme weather conditions. In extreme windy weather, frequent collisions, friction, and even collapse or broken lines between trees and lines occur. Statistics show that over 80% of power line failures during disaster weather are caused by tree-line conflicts, making it the main cause affecting the reliable power supply of the grid.

It is reported that the Provincial Development and Reform Commission attaches great importance to disaster resistance and supply guarantee work. In April this year, it issued the Notice on Further Strengthening the Disaster Resistance and Supply Guarantee Work of Power Facilities, clarifying core tasks such as hidden danger investigation and treatment, improving government-enterprise mechanisms, and strengthening emergency response. Subsequently, State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company quickly collaborated with development and reform departments at the city and district (county) levels, promoting each locality to introduce the Implementation Plan for Further Strengthening the Disaster Resistance and Supply Guarantee Work of Power Facilities, refining special investigation and treatment measures. Together with the forces of streets and towns, it carried out a dragnet-style investigation of tree obstacles, foreign objects, and construction hidden dangers, established a full-process ledger of “discovery - filing - handling,” efficiently eliminated risk points, and constructed a work closed-loop of “provincial overall planning - city/county refinement - town implementation.” Since the activity was launched, approximately 31,000 tree obstacle hidden dangers and 3,548 foreign object hidden dangers have been eliminated, and more than 20 publicity and education activities have been carried out.

This activity is a precise measure taken by State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company focusing on the characteristic risks of the “Hometown of Flowers and Trees.” Through “policy escort + pre-emptive publicity and education,” it not only safeguards the vigorous vitality of the “flower and tree economy” but also consolidates the foundation of power grid disaster resistance and mitigation, allowing the “beautiful industry” and “reliable power supply” to coexist and prosper.
