State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company: Conducting Security Education, Fortifying Cybersecurity Defenses

On April 15th, coinciding with the 10th National Security Education Day, the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company organized its county-level power supply companies to actively respond to the call of local cybersecurity and information technology departments and conduct activities for “4.15 National Security Education Day.” These activities aimed to popularize cybersecurity knowledge among citizens and enhance public awareness of security protection.

At the event held in Dengzhou People’s Park, themed display boards revolved around three core aspects – the legislative purpose, scope of application, and information dissemination norms. Using a combination of illustrations and text, the event analyzed the application of cybersecurity regulations in practical work, showcasing both industry professionalism and relevance to public life, attracting many citizens to stop and learn. Furthermore, using a multi-dimensional approach of “display board interpretation + handbook distribution + interactive experience,” the staff distributed three types of informational materials to passersby: “Cybersecurity Awareness,” “Beware of Telecommunications and Online Fraud,” and “Personal Information Protection Guide.” The handbooks covered essential points of the “Cybersecurity Law,” fraud prevention techniques, common misconceptions about personal information protection, and other practical knowledge, supplemented by vivid case studies, to help citizens quickly master basic skills for “preventing fraud, protecting secrets, and ensuring security.” The event also offered creative gifts imprinted with cybersecurity slogans, integrating cybersecurity concepts into daily life, making cybersecurity “tangible and accessible.”

“What should I do if I receive a suspicious link on my phone?” “How do I determine if an app is excessively collecting information?” Faced with questions from citizens at the event, staff members referred to the content in the handbooks and the tips on the creative gifts. They provided easy-to-understand explanations to address each question and guide the public to establish a “no detail is too small” mentality when it comes to security prevention. Many citizens commented that this “explanation + tangible items” approach to promotion was intuitive and effective. They learned practical knowledge and received thoughtful gifts, truly allowing cybersecurity knowledge to “enter the mind and be absorbed.”

This event not only spread cybersecurity knowledge among citizens but also further enhanced public awareness of cybersecurity. Moving forward, the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company will continue to conduct cybersecurity awareness campaigns, taking practical actions to fortify cybersecurity defenses and contribute the strength of the power grid to maintaining national security and social stability.
