Just as a spring breeze arrives overnight, blooming pear blossoms cover thousands and thousands of trees. Recently, the 19th Annual Yellow River Pear Blossom Festival and Northwest Folk Song (Hua’er) Concert in Nanbei Changtan, Zhongwei City, was held as scheduled. Staff from the State Grid Zhongwei Power Supply Company, carrying tool bags on their shoulders, moved through the sea of white flowers, remaining on duty 24 hours a day, inspecting electrical equipment, and sharing the grand Yellow River cultural feast with visitors from all directions.

“This event has many activities, multiple venues, and a lot of electrical equipment. It makes us feel much more secure when you come and help us check everything,” said a relevant person in charge at the event. The Nanbei Changtan Pear Blossom Festival is a key cultural tourism project launched by Zhongwei City. Over the past 19 years, the whole village has relied on the pear tree industry to develop the most beautiful villages, rural tourism, characteristic homestays, and other industries. Relying on the century-old pear trees as a “fruit of wealth,” distinctive industries have taken root, the village economy has come to life, and the lives of the villagers have become more prosperous.

To ensure electricity demand, the company has carried out grid upgrades, capacity expansion, and reconstruction for the village over the past two decades, making the village’s distribution network more reliable. Every year during the Pear Blossom Festival, the company’s staff increases the inspection and maintenance efforts for distribution lines, transformers, and agricultural irrigation facilities in advance, comprehensively eliminates hidden dangers, and proactively understands the electricity demand for various event service guarantees. They also explain safe electricity usage knowledge to farmers, effectively helping villagers increase their income with ample power.
