Henan Zhoukou: Ensuring Power Supply to Support Flower-Viewing Tourism

“The opening ceremony of the 21st Peach Blossom Festival and Tourism Consumption Season in Xihua County, Zhoukou City has been successfully launched, and the current electricity load is normal”. At 10:30 a.m. on March 25, personnel from the power supply department of Xihua County, Zhoukou, Henan, reported the electricity load situation during the opening ceremony in real-time through a WeChat group, ensuring the safety of the power supply throughout the event and making this spring festival full of electricity and excitement.

At the opening ceremony, the brilliant peach blossoms and the cheerful songs and dances complemented each other, with wonderful performances such as Huaying Zanxiang (Flower Shadows and Lingering Fragrance), The Peach Blossom Land, To the Sky Kingdom (Three Lives and Three Worlds Woven Together By Secrets), Village Official Li Tiancheng, Peach Blossom Dream, and In the Spring being staged in turn. These passionate performances, with their unique “hometown tunes”, rich “hometown flavors”, graceful “hometown rhythms”, and sincere “hometown emotions”, vividly displayed the new atmosphere and new style of rural areas in the new era.

After the opening ceremony, tourists flocked to the Peach Blossom Land scenic area to enjoy the flowers. The peach blossoms were in full bloom, with pink and white petals clustering together like a splendid cloud, enchanting everyone. Tourists strolled through the ten-mile peach forest, or drove through the sea of flowers, and boated along the banks of the Ying River, excitedly taking photos with the brilliant spring scenery. They visited the Wanmu Taoyuan (Ten Thousand Acres Peach Orchard), stayed in peach garden guesthouses, and tasted local snacks. The display of intangible cultural heritage and the exhibition of famous local products allowed visitors to experience the charm of culture while enjoying the flowers. It was a memorable journey of culture and customs, feeling the romance of this spring.

To ensure the power supply for the Peach Blossom Festival and Tourism Consumption Season, the State Grid Zhoukou Power Supply Company attached great importance to the task, intervened in advance, prepared meticulously, provided tracking services, implemented power protection measures, and did a thorough job in power protection. The service team was organized to understand the electricity needs of the event venue in advance, conduct on-site surveys, accurately calculate the power and load forecasts of electrical equipment, and develop a detailed power protection plan and emergency plan.

In advance, a comprehensive inspection of the power lines related to the event was carried out using “manual patrol and machine patrol” to eliminate various hidden dangers in the power lines and equipment, efficiently respond to sudden failures, and ensure reliable power supply for the event.

Before the opening ceremony, the special patrol and temperature measurement work for the 10kV to 220kV lines in the Peach Blossom Land scenic area was completed, with one hidden danger being addressed in a timely manner, laying a solid foundation for the stable power supply of the event.

At the opening ceremony site, three emergency repair vehicles, one live-line working vehicle, and one low-voltage mobile power generation vehicle were deployed. Employees were organized to stay at the power protection site to provide all-day power support for the event, ensuring the safety and stability of the power supply.

The City Nu Wa (located in the northwest corner of Dougang Village, Niedui Town, Xihua County, Zhoukou City, Henan Province) is full of spring, with peach blossoms blooming vibrantly. The Peach Blossom Land scenic area, as the largest concentrated peach blossom viewing spot in Henan Province, is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of tourists during the Peach Blossom Festival and Tourism Consumption Season. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the peach garden, taste the food culture, and purchase rural specialties. During the peach blossom season, various exciting programs such as Hula soup making technique demonstrations, calligraphy and painting exchange meetings, spring village evening parties, opera and folk art performances, and public matchmaking events will be held in rotation.

The peach blossoms will continue to bloom until the end of April. The blooming peach blossoms not only attract a large number of tourists but also greatly boost the surrounding farm-to-table restaurants and the catering industry.
