Zhejiang: Strengthening Public Awareness of Electrical Safety in Townships

“Auntie, look at this pamphlet—it clearly states that protecting power facilities is everyone’s responsibility. Safe electricity usage ensures bright homes for all!” Every year, March 19 marks Forest Fire Prevention Awareness Day. On this day, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Company launched a province-wide campaign to promote electrical safety and fire prevention. In Sanmen, Zhejiang, the local power supply company, in collaboration with the Sanmen County Emergency Management Bureau and the Tingpang Town Government, organized a special “Three-Prevention” awareness campaign targeting townships, focusing on preventing forest fires, external damage, and floating debris-related hazards affecting power facilities.

That day, a joint awareness team visited the streets and villages of Tingpang Town, distributing informational booklets and promotional materials to educate residents on forest fire prevention, safe electricity usage, and power infrastructure protection.

At the campaign site, electrical safety promoter Zhang Ping enthusiastically explained the importance of safeguarding power facilities while patiently addressing villagers’ concerns regarding safe electricity practices. The booklet in his hands contained a detailed list of safety precautions and relevant regulations on power facility protection, ensuring that residents could easily grasp essential knowledge.

Through this in-depth township awareness initiative, villagers gained a profound understanding of forest fire prevention and outdoor electricity safety, fostering a community-wide commitment to becoming guardians and advocates of forest conservation.
