State Grid Xuchang Power Supply Company: Pre-Semester Electrical Inspections Secure Safe School Reopenings
On February 12th, anticipating the upcoming spring semester, State Grid Xuchang Power Supply Company dispatched its Jiao Yulu Communist Party Service Team to conduct thorough safety inspections at primary and secondary schools throughout Xiangcheng County. The team performed thorough “check-ups” of school power distribution facilities and electrical equipment, identifying and addressing potential safety hazards to ensure a worry-free start to the new school year.
With the spring semester approaching, school electrical equipment and wiring have been inactive for an extended period during the winter break. Exposure to cold weather, including cold waves, may have caused varying degrees of aging and damage, leading to safety concerns. To ensure the safe and healthy operation of school electrical equipment, State Grid Xuchang Power Supply Company proactively engaged with the local education authorities to stay informed about school reopening schedules. Subsequently, organized by local power supply stations, small groups from the Jiao Yulu Communist Party Member Service Team were then dispatched to primary and secondary schools and kindergartens within their respective jurisdictions to conduct essential electrical safety checks.
The Service Teams concentrated on detailed physical examinations of school power lines, transformers, distribution rooms, emergency backup power supplies, and other equipment. They also conducted a systematic, zone-by-zone inspection and rectification of classrooms, offices, cafeterias, and other facilities to completely eliminate common hazards such as tangled wiring, aging insulation, and damaged sockets, effectively improving the safe operation of electrical equipment on school campuses. In addition, the company actively organized personnel to maintain and standardize power lines and warning signs around schools, strengthening inspections and hazard identification of surrounding transmission and distribution lines to ensure a consistently safe and reliable power supply for school campuses.
To date, the company has completed safety inspections at 23 primary and secondary schools in Xiangcheng County, identifying and resolving 15 potential hazards. These practical actions demonstrated State Grid Xuchang Power Supply Company’s commitment to ensuring a safe and reliable power supply for the new school semester.
