Ensuring Power for Lantern Festival Festivities: Power Grid Night Patrols Support Shehuo Performances
“With so many people out for the Lantern Festival, we must be extra thorough in our checks and not overlook a single potential hazard.” On the evening of February 10th, as darkness fell and the city lights came alive, He Yunpeng and Li Zhiwei, employees of State Grid Kuitun Power Supply Company, patrolled key power lines along the route of Kuitun City’s Lantern Festival Shehuo (folk art parade). They conducted thermal scans to monitor temperature fluctuations and identify any safety hazards, ensuring a reliable power supply to enhance the festive atmosphere.
On February 12th, the highly anticipated Kuitun City Lantern Festival Shehuo performance will grandly open at the Kuitun Government Square. Dragon and lion dances, traditional folk music and dance performances, and engaging interactive games will be featured, transforming key streets such as Tuanjie Road, Beijing Road, and Urumqi East-West Road into performance venues and prime viewing locations for citizens.
To ensure a reliable power supply and public safety during the Shehuo performances, Kuitun Power Supply Company actively collaborated with the event organizers, conducting preliminary site surveys, mapping the Shehuo performance routes, and developing targeted power protection plans and contingency measures. A dedicated team of Party members inspected transformers, distribution boxes, and power lines at Kuitun Government Square and the opening ceremony venue to guarantee uninterrupted power for sound systems, live streaming, and other essential equipment. Special safety inspections were also carried out on primary power supply lines and key areas along the Shehuo route, promptly identifying and eliminating potential hazards to maintain a safe and stable power supply to critical equipment. Furthermore, the company will closely monitor weather conditions and strengthen operational monitoring to provide strong power support for the smooth running of the Shehuo performances.
“A total of 18 Shehuo teams will perform simultaneously on two routes, affecting six major power lines and 28 critical power supply devices. In addition to stepped-up patrols, we have fully prepared on-site emergency repair services and stocked sufficient spare parts and equipment. During the event, we will also station dedicated technicians on-site to ensure power supply, making every effort to support the Shehuo performances,” explained Song Kangxing, the person in charge of power supply protection for the Lantern Festival event.
Moving forward, the Kuitun Company will continue to strengthen its routine patrols and grid inspections, addressing any potential hazards within their jurisdiction. Shift schedules, emergency response protocols, and other related work will be reinforced to ensure a warm and joyous Lantern Festival celebration for all residents. (By Wang Ting)
