State Grid Xuchang Power Supply Company: Comfort and Power for Returning Migrant Workers

On January 23, staff from State Grid Xuchang Power Supply Company visited the home of Zhang Hongwei. Zhang is a recently returned resident of Cixi Village, Cigou Township, Xiangcheng County, Henan Province. They replaced his faulty residual current device (RCD) and conducted a thorough inspection of both his indoor and outdoor wiring and electrical equipment to ensure safe electricity use.

With the Lunar New Year approaching and migrant workers returning home, State Grid Xuchang Power Supply Company has carefully planned its services to guarantee their electricity needs. Working closely with local governments and village committees, each local power supply station has compiled detailed data on returning residents, creating individual files for each household. Thirteen dedicated service teams, comprised of Communist Party members from these stations, have proactively visited homes to conduct comprehensive safety inspections of interior and exterior residential electrical systems, rectifying any unauthorized or haphazard wiring and promptly addressing hazards such as exposed wires and damaged or deformed sockets.

Beyond these on-site inspections, the company has utilized various channels, including online platforms like WeChat service groups, to disseminate targeted information to returning residents. This included service hotlines, information on heating electricity pricing policies, and electrical safety tips. They have also actively promoted the “Online State Grid” mobile app, enabling convenient account management for residents from their homes. Distribution of service cards ensures immediate assistance is available, guaranteeing prompt resolution of any power-related issues and providing peace of mind to returning residents.

To date, the company has assisted 137 returning households, resolved 48 power failures, and distributed over 300 service cards and 600 electrical safety pamphlets. Through these efforts, State Grid Xuchang Power Supply Company is committed to delivering high-quality, efficient, and convenient services to ensure safe and reliable electricity for all returning residents.
