State Grid Ningdong Electric Power Supply Company Sets New Grid Load Record
Ningdong’s power grid reached a new peak load of 2.3735 million kilowatts at 6:45 PM on December 17th, marking the third record high this year. This surpasses the previous peak of 2.328 million kilowatts recorded on June 18th, 2024, representing an increase of 1.95% (45,500-kilowatt). Currently, the power supply in the Ningdong and Yanchi regions remains stable and sufficient, with the grid operating smoothly and securely.
“The recent temperature drop has driven a rapid rise in residential heating demand, the primary cause of this sharp load increase,” explained the head of the Ningdong Company Dispatch and Control Center. To manage this peak demand, State Grid Ningdong has implemented a comprehensive set of measures, including issuing the “State Grid Ningdong Electric Power Supply Company Winter Peak Power Supply Assurance Work Plan” and establishing a dedicated task force to ensure esponsibility is clearly defined and tasks are refined. Key initiatives include: Advance Forecasting and Scientific Response: The company has been maintaining close communication with meteorological departments to monitor real-time weather changes, optimizing grid operation methods, strengthening load management for users, and providing accurate load forecasts; Reinforced Equipment Monitoring and Inspections: There has been an increased surveillance and inspections on primary and secondary equipment, with a heightened focus on substations with single-line and single-transformer configurations; Enhancing Workforce Training and Emergency Preparedness: Through winter training sessions, the company has improved the technical skills and emergency response capabilities of its personnel across various departments; Maximizing Renewable Energy Utilization: Ningdong Company has boosted the efficiency of renewable energy stations by expediting the grid connection and operation of renewable power plants and energy storage stations, ensuring high-quality grid connection services. To address vulnerabilities in the Ningdong power grid, it has developed contingency plans and conducted joint anti-incident drills to enhance inter-departmental communication and collaboration for reliable power supply.
Moving forward, State Grid Ningdong Electric Power Supply Company will continue to closely monitor weather changes, analyze load fluctuations, and further refine its measures to ensure stable power supply throughout the winter and spring, guaranteeing that residents in its service area stay warm and comfortable during the cold months.
