Autumn Inspection Secures Stable Winter Operations of Power Grid
On October 24th, State Grid Shangqiu Power Supply Company announced the successful completion of a comprehensive six-day overhaul of the 220kV Lulou Substation. This included major maintenance on disconnect switches, routine testing of main transformers, and periodic check-ups, efficiently eliminating multiple potential hazards and significantly enhancing equipment health. These measures have established a firm foundation for stable power grid operations throughout the winter season.
With the arrival of colder temperatures, State Grid Shangqiu Power Supply Company seized this maintenance opportunity to ensure reliable power supply during the winter months. By prioritizing safety and efficiency through a multifaceted approach aimed at preventing safety accidents, it guaranteed a successful autumn inspection. The company assigned staff to survey inspection sites in advance, developed comprehensive maintenance plans, detailed procedural diagrams (5 in total) and tables (3 in total) to outline the workflow, analyse work-related hazards, and establish preventive measures etc. This thorough preparation ensures that no potential weak points and safety hazards are left unaddressed. On-site, dedicated zones were established for staff responsibility. Crew members were briefed on potential risks and preventive measures, emphasizing the importance of safety with the “Three Violations and Five Hazards” campaign to heighten safety awareness. The company also prioritizes the training of technical staff, concentrating on key processes and critical aspects of operations. Through mentorship programs and pairing experienced workers with newcomers, young employees were encouraged to apply theoretical knowledge in practical scenarios and undertake various technical tasks under supervision, which significantly elevate their skill sets.
During the autumn inspections, State Grid Shangqiu Power Supply Company coordinated eight “whole station” overhauls and nine “whole voltage level” maintenance revisions, ensuring 726 autumn inspection-related power outages were safely and orderly executed. They also advanced the integration of municipal and county maintenance operations, alongside main production processes fusion, offering differentiated training based on the integrated platform to fortify the knowledge and safety skills of personnel in municipal and county companies, thus providing robust support for efficient autumn inspections.
Moving forward, the company is committed to refining management practices, streamline maintenance processes, and consistently advancing power grid equipment functionality, ensuring high-quality power supply services for all sectors of society while meeting the growing electricity demands of the winter season.
