凯特王妃患癌，外媒一段夸张英文令人发笑_风闻

英国凯特王妃22日通过录播视频向外界宣布身患癌症的消息。视频一出，多家主流外媒发表评论文章，质问近段时间不断散播阴谋论的小报：

《华盛顿邮报》

《今日美国》

《大西洋月刊》

这三篇评论文章观点相似，笔法各有千秋，但文中的夸张和隐喻表达都令人印象深刻。比如《今日美国》这一段写得十分幽默：

**In case you have been living under the heaviest, most remote rock in the world,**Kate underwent surgery in January and announced a months-long retreat from public life to recover. That story didn’t sit well with the public or the media, and they came up with9,234,923,089other reasons for her absence.（USA Today）

不要数了，9,234,923,089 这一串数字大概是作者怀着愤怒的心情在键盘上胡乱敲出来的，和“飞流直下三千尺”中的“三千尺”一样，乃是虚指，数越大越夸张。这种用数字表夸张的手法在外媒写作中并不少见，很能吸引眼球。

第一句“In case you have been living under the heaviest, most remote rock in the world, ”也是幽默的夸张表达，和中国网民常说的“你家断网了吗”有异曲同工之妙。

《大西洋月刊》和《华盛顿邮报》也同样采用夸张手法描述阴谋论之多：

Kate has effectively been bullied into this statement, because the alternative—awildfireof gossip and conspiracy theories—was worse. （《大西洋月刊》）

Conspiracy theories hadmetastasized, forcing the Princess of Wales to a teleprompter to disclose what the doctors had found inside her body. （《华盛顿邮报》）

“wildfire（野火）”与“metastasize（扩散）”既是隐喻也是夸张，尤其把表达“癌症扩散”的动词“metastasize”与“阴谋论”搭配起来，很应景，也很有讽刺意味。
