Does the government need to interfere in the economy to stop global warming, or will the rising price of oil and coal, and the lowering price of sustainable power fix the problem on its own?

, I have verified the history of global warming.
Current trends are not leading to a fix of the global warming problem. The US government is already interfering in the economy with the stated intent of fixing the problem. However what the government has been doing is making things worse. Subsidizing both fossil fuels and intermittent sources of energy is counter-productive.
Actually, neither should be subsidized. The “lowering price of sustainable power“ is an illusion. The incremental price of electricity on the wholesale market is distorted because the providers of intermittent electricity make most of their money from the subsidies. The price that consumers pay goes up. Yes, it is weird, but that is how it works. It is complicated. The new book “Shorting the Grid: The Hidden Fragility of Our Electric Grid by Angwin, Meredith” explains it quite well. I highly recommend it to everyone interested in how electricity is gets distributed in the US.
Intermittent sources of electrical energy are not sustainable because they require methane to supply the energy when they cannot. Adequate storage for much more expansion of the intermittent sources is not going to be available in the near future, maybe never. Also, the damage to the environment from the full life cycle of the equipment to produce the intermittent energy is not sustainable. The equipment wears out and needs to be replaced far too soon.
We do need the government to act. We need it to stop working against the available solutions that can work.

Still trying to. I quit flying, I do not own a car (never did), installed solar modules and a heat pump. But I struggle to become vegetarian. My footprint is still around 2 planets. Further significant reduction depends on government funded or regulated infrastructure to become sustainable.
How about your footprint?
(mmm… Taste the sustainability)
The Globalist Climate Death Cult is the “taskmaster general”, trying to cripple functioning nations and support nonfunctional countries.
You’ve been lied to.

There is no government, nor any government agency, in the history of mankind that has successfully altered the weather—not for a minute, not for a second.
The temperature of the earth’s oceans and the earth’s atmosphere is entirely determined by the earth’s proximity to the sun.
Changing the prices of oil or coal will simply cause some ripples in global markets energy. It would be better if politicians would stay the hell out of it, but they won’t.

your right, it’s just all the sun’s proximity. Did you know according to the sun’s cycles, we should be getting colder now?

We have created such an enormous amount of energy and influence that you can easily see our influence, every night, from above the earth. I don’t think it’s that much of a stretch to believe that we can mess up one of the most complex and fragile systems in the world, and throw earth into extreme conditions.
