I think different province have slightly different school hours

Back in the early 90s my school starts from 7am to 12 then 2 to 4 then 7 to8 Monday to Friday, Saturday half day. If an exam is coming, teacher will make everyone to come on Sunday to study too. During holiday periods you will have home works to do also. It’’s very busy for students. In the west just too loose and too much holidays.

1. Because learning is the most direct and simple way to change their destiny, especially for families in poor areas, their hope is placed on the next generation of children.

2. Also, China’s population is too large, but the number of good universities is limited. Many people must work hard to be better than others. People who are better than you are working hard, So what reason do you have to be lazy? This is the idea that many students are indoctrinated.

So everything is related to the population. There are 7 or 8 million graduates every year, but there are relatively few good jobs. The company always hires the best, so students must improve itself in all aspects, whether it is academic qualifications or ability, in order to make yourself more competitive and easier to achieve a successful career. All the hardworking currently will determine your life quality in the future.

I think employments the same both UK and China want degrees and qualifications for higher tier jobs. You cant get a better job without qualifications but whats more stupid in alot of UK job applications they require qualifications and experience.

Chinese parents want their kids to at least be in these higher tier jobs, The expect you to be with a doctor or lawyer. If you dont do either you can do computers, so i chose computers and worked hard on the PS4
