Donald Trump has threatened to cut off emergency funding to California as wildfires rage across the state, telling governor Gavin Newsom to “get his act together”.

It’’s not even just forest management problems. It’’s power company corruption. The power lines going down and sparking wildfires are about 100 years old. They’’re not being maintained by PG&E because those lines are too far out of the way, and it would cost them a lot of money to repair them. Fuck PG&E, SDG&E, and every other corrupt power company that refuses to maintain their power lines. This, especially when they then pass off their fines by raising customer prices, knowing customers can’’t do a damn thing about it because of power company monopoly.

Santa Clara had the right idea in creating their own power company and power grid. If only the rest of California could do the same.
